Accountant I

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Accountant I reports to the Controller, working closely on the day-to-day accounting operations for the company. This position is expected to assist the controller with accounts payable, accounts receivable, month- and year-end closing, reconciling accounts, generating financial reports, and analyzing costing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reporting and Analysis

  • Assist with month-end close process and journal entries
  • Perform GL account analysis and reconciliation
  • Analyze costing variances and prepare needed reports
  • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of Cost Method

2. Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Process vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies with internal teams
  • Prepare weekly payment runs and maintain accurate vendor records
  • Support AP aging reviews and assist with vendor inquiries
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices
  • Monitor customer accounts, apply payments, and follow up on outstanding balances

3. Internal Controls and Audits

  • Ensure organization compliance with accounting policies and procedures as well as GAAP
  • Assist with internal audits of processes and procedures and transactions

4. Data Analysis

  • Compile and analyze financial and operational data to support decision‑making

5. Other

  • Additional duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. 40 hours Monday through Friday

2. Agility EMS office environment

EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCES / BEHAVIORS

1. Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or finance

2. Must be able to effectively communicate with both employees and management and maintain a positive working relationship when addressing and solving problems

3. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

4. Fundamental knowledge of ERP system processes, Epicor is a plus

Pay: $52,020.00 - $77,020.00 per year
