Accountant (Medical Center Experience)
Role Purpose
The Accountant will oversee financial transactions, reporting, and compliance for the medical center. The role requires solid accounting expertise combined with practical experience in healthcare operations, including insurance claims, patient billing, payroll, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and prepare financial statements in compliance with IFRS and UAE standards.
- Handle month-end and year-end closing, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare forecasts, and provide management with financial analysis for decision-making.
Medical Center Billing & Insurance
- Manage patient billing, receipts, refunds, and adjustments in coordination with reception and operations teams.
- Process and reconcile insurance claims with healthcare insurers; follow up on outstanding claims.
- Ensure billing complies with DHA/MOH guidelines and internal medical center policies.
Payroll & HR Coordination
- Calculate monthly payroll, staff benefits, and consultants’ incentives in alignment with attendance and contractual agreements.
- Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws and MOHRE requirements.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Reconcile supplier invoices, LPOs, and delivery notes for medical and non-medical purchases.
- Manage vendor payments and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT returns and ensure compliance with UAE tax laws.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards and LFMC financial policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a medical center or healthcare environment.
- Hands-on experience with insurance billing, patient accounts, and consultant incentive computation.
- Familiarity with healthcare software (ERP/clinic management systems).
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, healthcare finance compliance, and labor law basics.
