Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate financial records and improving our system of financial controls in our Mexican operations (Monterey and Mexico City). The Accountant will serve as a key part of an efficient and dedicated finance and accounting team. The Accountant will work collaboratively with the rest of the Global Finance and Accounting Team and will report directly to the Controller of the company in addition to working with other key members of the senior management team. The ideal candidate will be a strong bilingual communicator (Spanish and English) with experience working with financial data in complex situations, international operations, and accounting in asset-intensive industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record day-to-day financial activities in Microsoft Dynamics, including cash flow ledger entries

• Input historical data into Microsoft Dynamics

• Manage in-country regulatory filing process, including all business and tax filing requirements for Mexico

• Manage employee tax requirements in consultation with the Human Resources team

• Collaborate with the Treasurer to oversee tax compliance

• Collaborate with a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive financial strategies that align with business objectives

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, adhering to GAAP and international accounting standards

• Work with the Controller to complete audits for domestic and international operations

• Continuously assess and refine financial processes to improve efficiency and scalability

• Support job costing, project accounting, and contract financial management

• Work cross-functionally with project managers, procurement, and operations teams to ensure financial alignment

• Assist accounts receivable with invoicing and collections

Qualifications:

• Accounting degree required

• Auditing experience with reputable international auditing firm preferred but not required

• 5 to 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience

• Aerospace and defense industry experience preferred but not required

• Experience with a Microsoft ERP system would be a plus

• Experience with international operations including foreign exchange, compliance, and reporting

• Ability to speak Spanish and English required

• Proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards required, knowledge of US GAAP strongly preferred
