Job description:
Financial Accounting
- Prepare general ledger and ensure that financial accounting transactions are accurately and properly reflected in the accounting books in accordance with company’s accounting procedures, regulatory requirements, and any other relevant international accounting standards and practices.
- Prepare and maintain a checklist, update current applicable amounts and process monthly recurring journals accordingly in order to support efficient and effective completion of accounting process.
- Analyse all general ledger accounts including trial balances, general ledger rejected transactions in order to ensure all relevant transactions are accounted and the account balances are correct.
- Ensure the effective management and maintenance of fixed asset ledger by recording fixed assets transaction (additions, disposals, retirements, transfers etc.) under the defined asset classification as per fixed asset accounting policy, generate and post transactions.
- Implement the cost allocation by aggregating cost data from the different units and departments, execute corporate/ shared services chargeback mechanisms to ensure adherence to the cost allocation principles as per company’s policy.
Account Payables and Receivables
- Track account payables and receivables related transactions, and analyse aging of payables/ receivables in order to effectively follow-up and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on insufficient or incorrect accounting information to maintain effective control over payments made and received within company.
- Check and validate the time entry records, execute the monthly disbursement of salary and wage payrolls and ensure maintenance of various payroll records to ensure payroll disbursement is done on time as per the policies and procedures.
- Conduct various disbursement related activities ensuring timely processing of payments to vendors, prepare the letters of credit and bank guarantees for review and issuance; prepare advance cash etc., to ensure sufficient funds are available for payments due and transactions are done according to the laid out policies and procedures.
- Track collections including analysing collection reports and auditing delinquent accounts, analysing due balance reports, highlighting issues concerning further delay in payment, coordinating with the concerned department and Legal Department for any investigations etc., to ensure that all the payments are received in line with the payment schedule.
Financial Reports
- Gather reporting requirements from the respective stakeholders and develop templates for pulling data from the system and for report generation to ensure any statutory, external, or internal reports are generated on a timely basis.
- Generate periodic financial reports and financial statements in line with local and international standards in order to keep the senior management informed about company’s financial health and to support planning and decision making.
Audit
- Facilitate the ongoing activities of Internal Audit and any other approved audits and prepare replies to auditors to ensure accounting conventions are adhered to.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Accounting or any related discipline
- Professional accounting qualifications like CA is preferred
