Accountant - Payables

Job description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant - Payables to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting business operations through sound financial reporting and analysis. The role may also involve coordination with external auditors, banks, and other third parties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process, verify, and record supplier invoices accurately and in a timely.
• Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and delivery notes.
• Ensure proper authorization before payment, prepare and process payments (cheques and bank transfers) as per the agreed credit terms, and ensure that the payments are entered in SAP S/4HANA promptly.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Reconcile supplier statements and promptly investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor master records in the system.
• Monitor accounts payable to ensure timely payments and effectively manage the AP aging report.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting procedures.
• Prepare quarterly VAT report and maintain proper documentation and filing for quarterly VAT return filing.
• Prepare accounts payable reports and support financial audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
• Process employee expense claims and reimbursements.
• Identify and recommend improvements to accounts payable processes and controls.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Finance).
• 2 – 3 years of accounting experience in accounts payable.
• Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA is an added advantage.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
