Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
Manage the full accounting cycle, including processing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and performing bank reconciliations.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement) in compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations.
Manage the company's fixed assets register and calculate depreciation.
Oversee and manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely payment to suppliers and collection from debtors.
Manage petty cash and ensure proper documentation and control.
Cost & Inventory Control (Restaurant Specific)
Monitor and analyze Food Cost (FC) and Beverage Cost (BC), identifying variances and recommending strategies for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
Perform periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records.
Ensure accurate valuation and costing of inventory, including raw materials and finished goods.
Track and report on key F&B performance indicators (e.g., F&B margin, stock rotation).
Compliance & Auditing
Handle all aspects of Value Added Tax (VAT), including accurate calculation, timely preparation, and submission of VAT returns to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).
Ensure compliance with all relevant UAE labor and commercial laws as they pertain to financial operations (e.g., gratuity calculation, payroll deductions).
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
System & Documentation
Maintain and update the accounting software/ERP system (mention specific software if applicable, e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, POS integration).
Ensure all financial records and documentation are meticulously organized and securely filed.
Process and verify staff payroll, ensuring accuracy and adherence to WPS (Wages Protection System) guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) is a strong advantage.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven, hands-on accounting experience specifically within the UAE Restaurant/F&B sector is mandatory.
UAE Expertise: In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and experience with timely VAT filing.
Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of restaurant-specific accounting principles, including cost control, inventory management, and POS system reconciliation.
Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Experience with a reputable accounting software/ERP is required.
Personal Attributes: High level of accuracy, attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
