What is the Corporate Accounting & Resorting India team responsible for?
The team in India is responsible for maintaining the accounting books, records for India and certain international companies within Franklin Templeton, including preparation of financial statements, board reporting, audit, adherence to financial policies and procedures related to financials and efficient communication with internal and external stakeholders.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of an Accountant?
Prepare and review financial statements for statutory and tax audits; coordinate with external auditors and manage audit-related requirements.
Deliver monthly and quarterly financial reporting to senior management, including variances analysis.
Prepare Board and Committee presentation decks, including financial insights.
Review the general ledger and ensure accuracy, completeness and integrity of books of accounts.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including SEBI regulations related to minimum regulatory net worth, liquid net worth, regulatory investments.
Ensure adherence to relevant provisions of the Companies Act, including those relating to CSR, appointment and rotation of auditors, related party transactions.
Manage periodic regulatory filings such as AOC, XBRL within statutory timelines.
Maintain control over bank accounts and authorized signatories; liaise with banks for audit-related documentation including interest certificates, balance confirmations.
Provide regulatory and financial reporting support to the foreign parent entity, as required.
Coordinate with internal auditors by sharing data, responding to audit queries and supporting closure of observations.
Participate in ad-hoc cross-functional and cross-departmental projects and initiatives as required.
Compliance with finance framework for risks and controls as required under regulations. Periodic testing of such controls
Support tax function as required
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful?
Qualified Chartered Accountant.
One to three years’ experience in financial accounting, preferably within a multinational organization and a similar function.
Strong working knowledge of accounting standards, including IFRS and IND AS.
Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to stay current with applicable regulations, procedures and business activities.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and effective use of AI-enabled tools.
Work Shift Timings - 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM IST
