Accounting Analyst

Geode Capital Management, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Analyst to contribute to the monthly close process, financial reporting, and audit preparation. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this individual will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, identifying opportunities for process improvements and enhancements, and collaborating across departments to support the firm’s financial operations. This role, reporting to the Accounting Manager, provides valuable exposure to a wide range of financial functions while contributing to a mission-driven firm dedicated to long-term growth and success.
This is a hybrid work environment opportunity located in Boston, Massachusetts with a weekly in-office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and remote work availability on Mondays and Fridays.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare close support for the Corporate Accounting team and respond to routine inquiries
  • Review monthly AP report for reclasses and proper account classifications
  • Calculate and validate management fees in accordance with client agreements
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly client invoices and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable
  • Reconcile monthly financial statement activity and balances to supporting documentation (i.e. bank statements, client invoices, accrual schedules, AP reports)
  • Assist in annual audit process by responding to audit requests and compiling supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Maintain documentation of procedures and internal controls, performing periodic reviews to ensure effectiveness, accuracy and ongoing relevance
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflow and enhance efficiency
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with ad-hoc projects, as needed
Skills You Bring:
  • Problem Solving Skills: Ability to leverage available resources and information to resolve issues
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to structure work effectively and manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated accuracy through comprehensive review and a strong commitment to quality
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting standards and advanced Excel skills (i.e. macros, lookups, pivots etc.)
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactive in providing updates on deliverables
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • CPA, MSA or MBA designation is preferred, or progress towards obtaining one is desirable
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within asset management or financial services industry
  • Knowledge of general ledger / chart of accounts functionality
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau and PowerBI a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required
