JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Analyst I will perform general staff accountant duties which will include contributions to the audit and end of year processes, tracking of grants, assisting in accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, and providing support as needed.

Assists integrating upgrades, modifications, and implementation of various financial computer system modules, databases and applications used in the accounting department.
Participates in continuous improvement teams as necessary.
Participate in financial software training days and one on one training as needed to ensure the success of the department.
Runs routine and ad-hoc queries and reports.
Enters data into electronic databases to ensure accurate processing and record keeping.
Sets up spreadsheets by writing formulas and functions to facilitate the processing of accounting information.
Operational & Departmental Support
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Two years of experience of progressively responsible accounting experience, governmental accounting experience preferred.
Excel experience required.
Experience with accounting systems and reporting software.
Valid driver’s license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Working knowledge of governmental accounting, grant administration, and financial compliance. Understanding of federal and state grant regulations and procurement requirements. Ability to analyze financial data, interpret regulations, and ensure compliance. Advanced Excel and financial software proficiency required. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Knowledge of departmental practices and systems.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and an orientation towards customer service.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment that requires adaptation to changing goals,
priorities, and needs.
Ability to organize and communicate effectively.
Ability to maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, reach and
manipulate objects, tools and/or controls. The position requires mobility. Duties may involve
moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment, such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and similar machines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Most work is performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting with centrally controlled heating
and air conditioning.
