ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Accounting and Compliance Coordinator is a dual-function role responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial operations and the maintenance of critical regulatory standings. This position provides essential support and supervises offshore accounts payable processes and employee expenses while managing a diverse portfolio of corporate compliance duties, including insurance tracking and property tax appraisals. The ideal candidate brings a meticulous eye for detail to financial reconciliations and the professional poise necessary to manage sensitive corporate compliance and administrative tasks. Located in our Houston office, this role is designed for a bachelor’s-educated professional with 5+ years of AP experience and the ability to navigate complex legal and financial documentation with absolute discretion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support and Supervise Offshore Accounts Payable and resolving any issues that arise. Including printing AP checks, same day wires/ACH’s, wire/ACH template setup, 1099s, depositing checks, etc.
Manage company administration tasks including Certificate of Insurance (COI) tracking, property tax appraisals, and business renditions. Ensure the maintenance and renewal of state-specific collection licenses and regulatory filings.
Oversight of employee expense report process and resolve any issues that arise while interacting with teams.
Proactively research and reconcile financial discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution and accurate reporting.
Serve as a professional point of contact for senior leadership and company ownership regarding accounts payable inquiries and compliance matters, ensuring high-level service and clear communication.
Support payroll administration.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on Accounts Payable experience.
Knowledge in legal requirements for state regulatory licensing.
Experience in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience preferred; proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently on assigned duties.
Proven ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines.
Maintains the utmost discretion and professional ethics when handling sensitive financial and personnel information.
Exhibits the professional maturity and poise necessary for direct interaction with senior management and company owners.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Background and drug screen required.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree required (open to all fields of study).
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write emails, speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and clients.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals quickly and correctly.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
