Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Houston, Texas

Type: Contract 6 months - must be able to start immediately

Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 / per hour

Summary:

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for supporting the company’s financial operations by processing invoices, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. This role also includes administrative duties such as document scanning, filing, and assisting with inventory tracking to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Duties:

- Process high-volume vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding

- Match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents

- Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure timely payment processing

- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

- Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner

- Scan, upload, and organize financial and operational documents into digital systems

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems (both electronic and paper)

- Assist with document retrieval for audits and internal reviews

- Support inventory tracking by maintaining records of materials, supplies, or equipment

- Reconcile inventory reports and assist with periodic inventory counts

- Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure accuracy of inventory data

- Assist with month-end closing processes, including accruals and reporting

- Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting procedures

- Provide general administrative support to the accounting and finance team

Requirements:

- 3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience

- Experience with ERP or accounting systems

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
