Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Classification: Full-time, non-exempt

Workplace Type: Hybrid (3 days in-office required)

Department: Client Services

Reporting To: CFO

As an Accounting Assistant for our rapidly growing company, you are responsible for assisting your CFO team with bookkeeping and accounting tasks to ultimately meet our clients’ unique needs. You may be assigned a wide range of tasks, from processing bills to reconciling account balances. We are looking for an intrinsically motivated problem-solver who values teamwork and impact. What you would be helping us with:

  • Collaborate with team members to assist them with bookkeeping, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Regularly perform bookkeeping tasks (processing bills, recording revenue and expense transactions, posting payroll entries, etc).
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (bank accounts, investments, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, lease-related accounts, payroll accrual, deferred revenue, debt, and restricted net assets).
  • Prepare annual 1099 filings.
  • Assist with team member projects, as assigned.
  • Fill-in for team member absences, as necessary.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Desire to be a full-cycle accountant
  • Energized by working with non-profit organizations
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online or another accounting system, preferred
  • Comfortable using software; willing to learn new software
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills and not afraid of a challenge
  • Intrinsically motivated to succeed
  • Problem Solver with the ability to ask for help

What Success Looks Like in the First 60 Days:

Like we mentioned above, we’ll provide you with all the support and training you need to crush your goals inside the workplace. For this role, this means that within 60 days, we will prepare you to:

  • Leverage our preferred systems to complete bookkeeping tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow team members to understand expectations and deadlines.
  • Be an ambassador for The Charity CFO, externally and internally.
