ACCOUNTING CLERK

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is looking to grow within a stable, established company.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely entry
• Manage accounts payable and receivable workflows, including tracking outstanding balances
• Perform vendor statement reconciliations and proactively resolve discrepancies
• Assist with job costing support, including reviewing invoices tied to specific projects
• Support Work in Progress (WIP) tracking by maintaining accurate cost documentation (preferred, not required)
• Prepare and post basic journal entries as needed
• Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations and reporting support
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records
• Communicate with vendors, project managers, and internal teams regarding billing and job-related costs
• Assist with credit card reconciliations and expense tracking
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
• Support process improvements within the accounting function

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (AP/AR, debits/credits)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central preferred)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
