Accounting Clerk

American Bank & Trust Company is looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk for the Opelousas area. The position involves a wide range of duties including but not limited to balancing general ledger accounts, official checks, reconciling bank statements, processing accounts payable, ordering and receiving supplies, and making runs to branches and post office. The position requires knowledge of accounting principles and banking laws; good analytical and problem solving skills; must be proficient with computers especially working with EXCEL and WORD; must have good communication skills; and must be able to drive a motor vehicle and have a good driving record. Looking for someone with at least six months experience and/or an Associates Degree in Accounting. Banking experience is a plus. Credit check is required.
