Banco Cooperativo de Puerto Rico, has an excellent opening for the position of Accounting Clerk

The Accounting Clerk will assist with the financial records, subsidiaries and details to track the company´s assets, liabilities, profits, losses, purchases, invoices, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the process of accounts receivable and accounts payable, codes invoices, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
  • Assist with the reconcile of bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, payroll accounts and other general ledger accounts; verify deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Assist with the general accounting duties in the Finance Department.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of the institution’s fund operations on a daily basis, taking into consideration the balances collected and electronic transfers.
  • Collaborate with the preparation and filling of required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Assist with the the process for incoming and outgoing electronic transfers.
  • Assist with the compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and document business transactions.
  • Assists in the preparation and filing of required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statement, profit, and loss statement, supporting schedules, and other financial analysis and reporting packages.
  • Collaborate with outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or required.

Job Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience required.
  • Knowledge of BSA and AML

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Customer service and security oriented.
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to confront problems that involve variable in common situations, to make judgment and take the corresponding actions.
  • Ability to work with the public.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word).
