Accounting Clerk

Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk to support our team. This role is critical to the day-to-day operations of the firm and will provide administrative, accounting, and project support in a professional engineering environment. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working with financial data, clients and client records, deadlines, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

· Prepare invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding balances

· Support payroll processing and expense reporting

· Maintain accurate financial records and data entry

· Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation as needed

· Work closely with company management

· Project & Compliance Support

· Assist with project setup, job costing, and tracking

· Maintain project files, contracts, and compliance documentation

· Support time tracking and billing processes

· Help ensure adherence to company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required

2+ years of experience in accounting related roles

Understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Strong organization skills and attention to detail

Written and verbal communication skills

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred

Experience in an engineering, construction, or professional services firm

Familiarity with accounting or project management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Deltek, Ajera, or similar)

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field
