Accounting, Data Analytics and Collections Specialist

Todd-Wadena Electric Cooperative located in central Minnesota is looking for a motivated person who enjoys contributing across multiple areas of our organization and supporting the overall mission of our electric cooperative. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting, Data Analytics and Collections Specialist to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting financial operations, customer billing processes, data reporting and collections activities.

The successful candidate will combine strong accounting knowledge with advanced data analysis and reporting skills to support cash management, billing accuracy, collections compliance, and business insights. This position requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to oversee multiple responsibilities while working both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cash management activities, including bank reconciliations, cash balancing, and monitoring cash transactions.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with financial reporting and account reconciliation.
• Collaborate, develop, maintain, and improve inter-department functions with reporting options using or learning various software tools such as core accounting and data software, Crystal Reports and Excel with Power BI.
• Analyze financial and operational data ensuring accuracy and reliability along with identifying trends and providing support for management decision-making,
• Assist with collections and bad debt functions including administering automated collection notifications, working with members on payment arrangements, deposits and write-offs.
• Apply and maintain knowledge of applicable energy statutes, regulations, and cooperative policies related to billing and collections.
• Coordinate and administer energy assistance programs for qualifying members.
• Assist with administration of capital credits, including estate processing, and unclaimed property escheat compliance.
• Support member billing processes, including reviewing billing data, processing adjustments, and assisting with account maintenance.
• Perform other accounting, financial support, and cooperative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

OR

• Associate’s degree in Accounting with 5+ years of relevant accounting experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced proficiency in Excel

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
