Accounting Intern

About the Role
Xerosum provides back-office bookkeeping and accounting services to U.S.-based clients. We are looking for a motivated Accounting Intern to join our Lahore team — someone eager to learn U.S. accounting practices, comfortable working in cloud-based accounting platforms, and ready to support our client accounting operations under the guidance of senior team members.

This is an excellent opportunity for students or fresh graduates looking to gain hands-on exposure to real U.S. client accounts in a professional, structured environment.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in maintaining accurate books for U.S.-based clients on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Help record and reconcile transactions including bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor accounts
• Support preparation and review of financial statements — P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable management
• Process payroll entries and support payroll-related reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Help organize and clean up financials ahead of tax filing season
• Coordinate with senior accountants and team leads on client deliverables and deadlines
• Maintain organized, well-documented workpapers for each client.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or Desktop is a plus but not required — we will train the right candidate
• Basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting practices is an advantage
• Exposure to bank reconciliations or financial statement preparation (academic or practical)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Comfortable working U.S. Eastern Time Zone hours

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Buildium, Xero, or other U.S. accounting platforms
• Prior internship or part-time experience at an accounting firm
• Basic awareness of U.S. chart of accounts or industry-specific accounting (real estate, healthcare, etc.)
• QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification or any accounting software training

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CAF, ACCA (partial), CA (partial), or equivalent qualification is a plus

Work Setup

• Location: DHA Lahore (Phase 3) — on-site
• Hours: Aligned with U.S. Eastern Time Zone
• Days: Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
