Job Purpose:

The Accounting Lead, Tax for Near & Middle East Cluster ensures the company’s full compliance with local tax regulations and group tax policies, while optimizing tax processes and minimizing risks. This pivotal role is responsible for aligning tax strategies with the company’s long-term operational and sustainability objectives, overseeing accurate tax reporting, audit defense, and risk management. The position also leads both direct and indirect tax compliance activities, drives tax planning initiatives, and utilizes strong analytical skills to enhance tax cash out forecasts and overall tax health.

Main Accountabilities:

• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing and submission of all tax returns and payments, meeting corporate deadlines.

• Prepare the end-to-end preparation and filing of all tax returns (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, Stamp Duty, and other applicable taxes).

• Manage the VAT process, including refunds, returns, compliance, and controls for export subsidies.
• Audits and liaise with tax authorities, and coordinate with external advisors and auditors to resolve queries and manage disputes.
• Implement and control the E-Invoice system and ensure accurate reporting to relevant authorities.
• Monitor and optimize tax planning, identify tax-saving opportunities, and ensure alignment with business strategies and policies.
• Maintain robust compliance controls, internal tax records, audit documentation, and support SOX requirements.
• Advise stakeholders on tax matters, review contracts for optimal tax structuring, and provide guidance on new projects or expansions.
• Prepare annual corporate income tax packages, deferred tax calculations, and ensure proper IFRS tax accounting and reporting.
• Develop tax manuals and SOPs, conduct training to enhance tax awareness, and continuously improve tax processes for efficiency and compliance.
• Prepare all the Export subsidies process controls the submission and collection

Qualifications & Experience:

• 5–8 years of professional experience in tax compliance, preferably in multinational corporates or with a Big 4 firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. Relevant tax or accounting certifications preferred (e.g., CTP, CMA, CPA).
• Solid working knowledge of tax laws and practices in Egypt; familiarity with UAE and KSA tax regimes is a plus.
• Experience managing relationships and correspondence with tax authorities, particularly during audits/inspections
• Proficient with MS Office (especially Excel); exposure to ERP and tax software tools (SAP) advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of new tax law, Egyptian GAAP, CPM & IFRS
• Fluency in English and Arabic required. French is a plus.
