Accounting Manager

We are a local business management/accounting office specializing in retail and hospitality. We're now hiring a full-time (in person) Accounting Manager. This is not eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspired leadership for the organization.
  • Participate in important policy, planning, and strategy decisions.
  • Work with and directly support the executive team.
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, banking, and Human Recourses.
  • Oversee the work of all office employees to ensure they work productively and meet deadlines and company standards.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements, including end of period journal entries and asset/depreciation entries.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits with government agencies, external retirement plan auditor, lenders, and general liability and worker’s compensation insurance policies.
  • Oversee yearly insurance renewals for multiple properties and businesses.
  • Manage accounting software updates, and collaboration with IT resources.
  • Manage multiple sales tax rates for various counties, and prepare multiple sales tax returns. Knowledge of motor vehicle fuel returns a plus.
  • Work closely with CPA on all federal, state and local agencies to ensure compliance with all tax matters and completion of tax return filings for multiple entities. Make estimated tax payments.
  • Complete yearly personal property tax statements 571.
  • Oversee sub contracts and monitor payments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or similar experience.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience working in accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
  • Experience in commercial/retail/office real estate preferred, and strong knowledge of GL and JE
  • Knowledge of all aspects of AP/AR Proficiency with Quick Books and Excel expertise
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
