Accounting Manager Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to support and manage the day-to-day financial operations of our organization. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, deep knowledge of GAAP, and experience working in complex, multi-entity environments such as construction, service, and distribution.
The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, support multi-entity consolidation, strengthen internal controls, and assist in building out a scalable corporate accounting structure. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, streamlining processes, and supporting organizational growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and review of monthly financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance.
- Oversee multi-entity consolidations, including intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, and consolidated reporting.
- Assist in designing, improving, and building out a corporate accounting structure that supports organizational expansion and operational complexity.
- Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Perform and review account reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and account analysis for all entities.
- Support cash management activities through timely reporting, monitoring of cash balances, and coordination with leadership.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance programs.
- Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors with required documentation and explanations.
- Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting, variance analysis, and other financial planning activities.
- Maintain strong technical accounting skills, including double-entry bookkeeping, debits/credits, and general ledger processes.
- Utilize and support ongoing improvements in Acumatica or other ERP systems, including multi-company setups and financial reporting.
- Supervise and provide direction to accounting staff involved in journal entries, reconciliations, AP/AR workflows, and month-end close.
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for senior management as needed.
- Assist in developing process improvements and scalable accounting workflows to support rapid growth.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and standard accounting procedures.
- Experience in multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
- Background in building or improving corporate accounting structures, policies, and processes.
- Experience in construction, distribution, or service-based industries preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in account reconciliation, general ledger management, journal entries, and month-end closing.
- Strong technical accounting skills including double-entry bookkeeping, debits/credits, and payroll fundamentals.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights clearly to leadership.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including financial report writing.
- Experience with modern ERP systems (Acumatica Required).
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience supervising accounting staff.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
