Accounting Manager

Position Overview:

This position will manage revenue accounting for the Gulf Area of the Terminals division. Budgeted 2026 revenue for the Area is $694M.

Position Description:

  • Manage the monthly and quarterly revenue, billing, and SOX functions for Gulf Area’s 12 terminals; ensure timely and accurate financial statements and compliance with GAAP.
  • Supervise staff, including mentoring, setting goals and timely performance feedback.
  • Review and analyze all customer contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition and to approve contract setup in the billing system.
  • Collaborate with commercial, technical accounting, and IT on complex contractual arrangements.
  • Drive system enhancements to automate billing and backlog calculations for complex contractual arrangements.
  • Monitor the monthly SOX control process and participate in the preparation of walk-through documentation and testing requests as needed.
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare the quarterly revenue backlog disclosure for Gulf Area terminals.
  • Monitor and analyze reports, researching variances and providing explanations.
  • Manage the financial reporting for two joint venture entities.
  • Interface with all levels of management to obtain information necessary to complete duties.
  • Complete special projects and annual objectives as assigned.

Position Requirements


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum five years’ experience actively managing a finance/accounting environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required, CPA preferred.
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 and ASC 842 criteria.
  • Working experience with ERP systems. Merlin, Lawson, HFM and Essbase experiences preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, operations analysis, and internal reporting.
  • Must possess and demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of individuals of various levels, internally and externally.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, prioritize daily work reprioritize on short notice, self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to successfully perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and often with strict deadlines, while maintaining a high quality of work product.
  • Strong preference of O&G industry work experience, especially Mid-stream operations.
  • Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills of the successful candidate
