Position Summary
The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of Royal Flush, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely month-end and year-end close processes. This role is hands-on and requires experience in service-based or rental businesses, with a strong understanding of job costing, recurring billing, and multi-entity or multi-location operations. The Accounting Manager will serve as a key partner to management, providing financial insights that support operational decision-making and company growth.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close
Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions
Billing, Revenue & Job Costing
Oversee customer billing processes, including recurring rentals, short-term events, and construction contracts
Ensure accuracy of invoicing, revenue recognition, and collections
Monitor job costing and profitability by project, customer, and service type
Payroll & Expense Management
Oversee payroll processing and ensure correct coding of labor costs
Review employee expense reports and enforce company policies
Track and manage equipment-related expenses and depreciation
Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP, local and state tax requirements, and applicable regulations
Coordinate sales tax filings across multiple jurisdictions, if applicable
Assist with audits, insurance reviews, and external accountant requests
Maintain documentation and internal controls to support accurate reporting
Leadership & Process Improvement
Supervise and mentor accounting staff or clerical support (if applicable)
Improve accounting workflows and implement process efficiencies
Collaborate with operations and leadership to improve financial visibility
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with service-based, construction, or rental businesses preferred
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar ERP systems)
Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
Preferred
Experience with multi-state operations and sales tax compliance
Knowledge of job costing and equipment-based asset management
CPA or CMA designation (preferred but not required)
Experience improving or scaling accounting processes in a growing company
