Accounting Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a highly motivated Accounting Associate to join our accounting team. You will report directly to the Finance Manager to help scale Kotn's rapidly growing business.

What You’ll Be Working On:

FINANCIAL REPORTING & DATA INTEGRITY (50%)

• Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close
• Assist in reconciling account transactions with the general ledger
• Support in strengthening and optimizing business processes as they relate to the finance function
• Calculate the landed costs for the inbound shipments and management of inventory through our inventory management system
• Compare system reports to source data to verify entries
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE (50%)

• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
• Support the AP function from an invoice processing and review perspective
• Prepare the journal entries required to record inventory purchases, and monthly reconcile the purchases accounts
• Support in reviewing credit card transactions
• Manage the AP inbox and submit any invoices to AP for payment
• Assist in payment batch preparation into our banking system

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-4 years of experience in Accounting
• Very good command of English, both spoken & written
• Good MS Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple projects and enjoy a fast-paced learning environment
• Willingness to work afternoons/evenings to align with the Head Office (Toronto) working hours
