We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist (Payables & Financials Reporting) to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial operations. <Responsibilities>
- Execute general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate financial data.
- Prepare and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and accurate record-keeping.
- Conduct cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and financial report writing to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist with auditing procedures, SOX compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial management activities to optimize organizational resources.
- Mentor junior team members on technical accounting concepts, software tools such as Sage, Xero, and other accounting software platforms.
<Qualifications>
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and accrual accounting.
- Familiarity with GAAP standards, SOX compliance, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), securities law, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in financial software including Sage, Xero, and other relevant accounting tools; experience with financial report interpretation and financial statement preparation is essential.
- Strong knowledge of account reconciliation processes, bank reconciliation techniques, and general ledger accounting practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for reporting purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Must have Quickbooks experience, or similar.
- Must be familiar with credit card/bank reconciliation.
