Accounting Specialist

Robert Half Permanent Placement is seeking a detail-driven Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of one of our great Buffalo, NY clients. This role plays a key part in managing core accounting functions including general ledger entries, AP/AR processes, financial reconciliations, and reporting support. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of GAAP, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Pay : $27 - $32 per hour based on experience

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Prepare and post journal entries (prepaid expenses, depreciation, interest, etc.)
• Reconcile key accounts (bank, credit cards, AP/AR, client prepayments, intercompany)
• Process vendor invoices, EFT payments, ACH/check deposits, and apply client payments
• Finalize and distribute monthly client invoices and statements and follow up on overdue balances
• Monitor AR inbox and support client inquiries in coordination with project managers
• Review and approve employee expenses; assist with vendor setup and W-9/COI collection
• Maintain fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation
• Support QA/QC for project job setups and assist with project closings
• Provide backup for client billing platforms and purchase order processes

Skills and Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in AP/AR or general accounting required
• Experience with accounting software is required
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Experience in architecture, engineering, or construction industries is a big plus!
