Accounting Specialist – Part-time

University Park Country Club (UPCC) is seeking an Accounting Specialist who has prior country club experience. The Accounting Specialist should have an associate’s degree or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting role.

University Park, established in 1991, along University Parkway in Manatee County, consists of a 1,200-acre/1,200-home gated community featuring a 27-hole championship golf course, tennis/fitness center, and dining facilities.

The Accounting Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

Accounting Specialist Responsibilities: The incumbent is responsible for performing daily accounting activities, which include maintaining the membership database, communicating with members, counting cash, and performing other daily responsibilities.

· Maintain Membership Database. Add members, change dues classes, adjust F&B Minimums, and maintain Member Groups (handicaps, club storage, lockers, Trail Fees). Apply fees as needed. Adjust addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses as necessary. Set up ACH for member accounts.

· Initiate billings for membership statements and post payments.

· Answer member phone calls and respond to member e-mail communications. If any adjustments are necessary, follow up on inquiries, prepare batch entries, and file copies for backup with daily balance reports.

· Review aging reports and send correspondence to past due members.

· Maintain listings for MGA, 18-Hole LGA, and 9-Hole LGA members – bill annual dues and prepare check requests to relinquish what is collected. Bill for Hole-in-Ones.

· Analyze POS transactions in the restaurant and pro shops

· Reconcile the cash sheet with the bank to ensure all transactions are recorded properly, and credit card transactions are accurate.

· Collect and count cash from on-premises safes.

· Analyze and track company expenses across all departments, identifying trends, variances, and areas for cost savings.

Qualifications/ Skills & Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, notably Excel
  • Proficiency in math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Accuracy in performance
  • Time Management and timely delivery of assignments
  • Confidentiality and Integrity
  • Experience in Jonas Encore software is a plus
  • Proficiency in adapting to new software

Work Schedule: Six hours per day/ four days per week.

Salary: Hourly Wage - Contingent upon work experience.
