Accounting Supervisor

About the Role
We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to oversee core accounting operations supporting multiple nonprofit organizations. This is a hands-on role that reports to the Director of Finance and Administration and plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity that our partner organizations depend on.
This position is responsible for all accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions and performs essential accounting activities including reconciliations, journal entries, regulatory filings, and audit support. Success in this role requires both strong technical accounting skills and sound professional judgment, along with the ability to communicate financial requirements clearly and work collaboratively across teams.

Work Environment
This hybrid position is based in Washington, DC. Candidates must be within regular commuting distance and able to work in the office at least one day per week, or as organizational needs require. As part of a small shared-services team, this role may also participate in general office operations typical of a collaborative nonprofit environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $85,000 – $100,000
Placement within this range depends on relevant qualifications, experience, and alignment with the responsibilities of the role. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off; health, dental, and vision insurance; a 403(b) retirement plan; and additional benefits designed to support employee well-being and work-life balance.
