Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Trainee to support the finance team in billing, accounts receivable, and month-end closing activities. This role is wellsuited for fresh graduates, finalists, or part-qualified professionals (ACCA, ICMAP, or similar), as well as candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, who are looking to build a strong foundation in accounting operations and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel effectively for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices, account statements, and payment reminders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and follow up on overdue balances to support healthy cash flow.
  • Communicate professionally with customers to resolve billing inquiries, discrepancies, and payment issues.
  • Process and accurately record customer payments, ensuring timely posting to the correct accounts.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including ad-hoc reporting and reconciliations as required.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized records of billing and payment transactions in compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data handling, and reporting).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the accounting function.
