Contemporary Business Resources Inc is a professional services firm that specializes in assisting our clients with identifying and hiring the right talent to ensure their success. We are currently working with a Fort Myers business to fill the following position:

Accounting/HR Specialist

Location: Fort Myers, Florida

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Full-Time

Position Summary

Performs work within Fiscal and Human Resources area under the direction oft he Administrative Manager. Interprets and applies operating policies and exercises independent judgement in the performance of assigned duties and tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform benefits administration including enrollments, changes, qualifying events and open enrollment
  • Assists new employees in completing orientation paperwork and employment drug screening
  • Prepares and analyzes reports/invoices from various data sources
  • Resolves questions and issues presented by employees; prepares correspondence as required; processes PTO forms submitted by employees
  • Provides information on department policies and procedures as well as local and state statutes or laws
  • Performs accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, maintains financial records
  • Processes accounts payable including all employee reimbursements and contracted invoices; follows administrative codes, quotes and statutes.
  • Processes invoices for payment; processes purchase orders
  • Processes deposits and maintains petty cash; processes journal entries
  • Provides information on department policies and procedures as well as local and state statues or laws
  • Plans and organizes duties to work effectively with others
  • Controls sensitive and confidential information
  • Maintain handbook to ensure consistent performance or routines
  • Maintain records and files

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge or statutes and departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail, which includes grammar and spelling
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to understand, communicate and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to deal tactfully with people concerning sensitive information
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Ability to use a computer, internet and related software, includes modifying procedures and other necessary reports and documents
  • Working knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and ability to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy

Minimum Qualifications

  • An Associates Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of full time human resources or closely related field; or
  • Two years of full time administrative support work and two years of full time human resources and/or accounts payable or closely related field; and
  • Successful completion of criminal history background investigation; and
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License during employment
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Strong Organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
