An Accounts and Finance Expert is responsible for managing an organization’s financial health through accurate accounting, strategic financial planning, budgeting, compliance, and reporting. The role ensures financial stability, supports decision-making, and maintains regulatory and audit standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain and update general ledger, financial statements, and accounting records.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
2. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial data and trends to support management decisions.
- Develop management reports, variance analyses, and dashboards.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting processes and coordinate with department heads.
- Develop financial forecasts and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor and report budget vs. actual performance.
4. Compliance & Audit
- Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors for timely audits.
- Prepare documentation for tax filings, regulatory submissions, and compliance checks.
5. Financial Planning & Strategy
- Provide financial insights for business growth, cost optimization, and risk management.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, capital expenditure, and financial feasibility studies.
- Support corporate finance activities such as funding, loans, and banking relations.
6. Process Improvement
- Develop and implement accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
- Automate financial workflows and improve reporting efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- Professional certifications (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Tally).
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and integrity.
Experience
- Typically 3–8+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or similar roles, depending on seniority level.
