Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and diligent Accounts and Finance Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience across tax, audit, accounts management, corporate accounting, and month-end closing activities. The role requires an operational experience in financial reporting, statutory compliance, and managing a range of financial functions with a good understanding of Indian taxation laws and fair understanding of US – GAAP with financial best practices. This role will oversee/perform the day-to-day finance & accounting operations including month closing, JE preparation, Balance sheet recon, compliance & audit coordination/support.


Role expectations


Key Responsibilities:
1. Taxation:
o Coordinate with KDP (Accounting & Taxation partners) for direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax, Quarterly tax calculation, Transfer pricing quarterly working & annual true up, US-GAAP to Local GAAP reconciliation
o Data reviewing monthly and quarterly tax filing, ensuring timely and accurate submission of returns with our Tax & Accounting partner team KDP.
o Coordinate tax audits and assessments, data provider for tax authorities and external auditors.
o Keep up to date with changes in tax regulations, being coordinator with IT on tax readiness & compliance requirements.
2. Audit Management:
o Adherence to internal and statutory audits and accounting standards and compliance requirements.
o Coordinate with external auditors for audit planning, execution, and reporting.
o Review and resolve audit queries, providing required information to auditors in a timely manner.
o Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
3. Accounts & Finance:
o Supervise the preparation and finalization of financial statements in accordance with Indian GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
o Execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
o Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and work with the management team to address variances.
o Ensure proper documentation and compliance with corporate accounting policies and regulatory standards.
o Handle and oversee general ledger management, ensuring accurate journal entries.
4. Month-End Closing:
o Execute month-end closing activities, ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
o Prepare/Review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure correctness.
o Prepare month-end reports for management and ensure all reports are delivered on time.
o Analyse month-end financial results and provide variance analysis to management.
5. Banking Coordination:
o Coordination with bankers for releasing import payments
o Banking compliances.
6. Compliance & Reporting:
o Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST Act, US GAAP, Local GAAP , Transfer pricing and other relevant legislation.
o Work closely with other departments, such as legal and HR, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.


What we're looking for


Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
o M.Com/MBA preferred/Inter CA / Inter CWA
  • Experience:
o 5+ years of experience in finance and accounts, with background in tax, audit, and month-end closing.
o Proficiency in financial accounting software (e.g., SAP, Tally, Oracle, QuickBooks, blackline) and MS Excel.
  • Skills & Competencies:
o Understanding Indian tax laws (GST, Income Tax, TDS, etc.), accounting standards (Ind AS, IGAAP), and statutory compliance.
o Understanding of financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance.
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data in an understandable manner to non-financial stakeholders.
o High attention to detail and accuracy.
o Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
