Job description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance:
- Stay up to date with company and government rules, including tax, EOBI, PESSI, and other legal requirements.
- Prepare and keep proper records for all compliance-related matters.
2. Tax Management:
- Manage all types of company taxes, such as income tax, sales tax, and others.
- Make sure all tax returns and payments are done correctly and on time, with help from tax consultants when needed.
- Keep track of new tax laws and update company processes as required.
3. PF/EOBI/PESSI and Related Tasks:
- Handle employee registrations, contributions, and records for EOBI and PF.
- Ensure all payments are made on time and according to the law.
- Maintain accurate employee records and handle their questions related to EOBI or PF benefits.
4. Double-Entry Accounting:
- Record all financial transactions correctly using double-entry bookkeeping.
- Reconcile accounts, review ledgers, and fix any errors or mismatches.
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records, including ledgers, expense reports, and statements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Accounting certifications (such as ACCA, CA, or equivalent) are a plus.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in accounting, focusing on taxation, compliance, and EOBI.
- Good understanding of accounting basics and financial laws.
- Skilled in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Clear communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic knowledge of lease handling is an advantage.
