The Accounts Assistant supports the finance and accounts department by handling day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with company policies. The role involves bookkeeping, reconciliations, invoice verification, payroll support, and assisting in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Record daily financial transactions including payment and receipt entries.
  • Maintain bank entries and perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll and year-end adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate accounts receivable and accounts payable records.

2. Invoicing & Billing

  • Check and verify sales invoices for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure timely posting of invoices into the accounting system.
  • Prepare and review statements of accounts for customers and suppliers.

3. Reconciliation & Control

  • Perform cash reconciliation on a regular basis.
  • Carry out supplier and customer reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Reconcile ledger balances and assist in period-end closing activities.

4. Payments & Banking

  • Prepare cheques and payment documentation for approval.
  • Monitor bank transactions and follow up on pending payments and receipts.
  • Assist in managing fund utilization and cash flow.

5. Reporting

  • Assist in preparation of MIS reports for management review.
  • Prepare and maintain Fund Flow Reports.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.

6. Payroll & Compliance Support

  • Record payroll-related entries and assist with payroll reconciliation.
  • Maintain employee-related financial records as required.

7. Administrative & Other Financial Support

  • Check and manage official mail related to accounts and finance.
  • Track and coordinate vehicle renewals, insurance, and related payments.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents and records.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, receivables, payables, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
