We are looking for a seasoned finance professional to manage our financial operations with a specific focus on international trade and regulatory compliance.
Role Overview
The Accounts & Finance Manager will spearhead the financial operations of our import-export division. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of managing end-to-end trade finance, including foreign exchange (Forex) management, banking relations, landed cost analysis, and statutory compliance. You will act as a strategic partner to the management by providing accurate financial insights on shipment profitability and working capital.
Key Responsibilities
1. Import & Trade Finance Management
- Banking & Forex: Manage banking relationships for non-fund-based limits (LCs, BGs) and fund-based limits. Monitor forex rates and execute hedging strategies/forward booking to minimize currency fluctuation risks.
- Import Documentation: Oversee the opening of Letters of Credit (LC), document retirement, and coordination with banks for timely release of import documents.
- Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with FEMA regulations, IDPMS (Import Data Processing and Monitoring System) closures, and timely filing of Bill of Entry (BOE) submissions.
2. Costing & Profitability Analysis
- Landed Cost Calculation: Prepare detailed costing sheets for every container/consignment, factoring in ocean freight, insurance, customs duties, clearing charges, and transportation to determine the precise "per kg" landed cost.
- Inventory Valuation: Monitor stock valuation across cold storage locations to ensure accurate financial reporting of perishable assets.
- MIS Reporting: Provide weekly profitability reports per shipment and variance analysis (Actual vs. Budgeted costs).
3. Core Accounting & Taxation
- Financial Oversight: Supervise the accounts team in daily bookkeeping, ensuring accurate recording of purchases, sales, and expenses in the ERP/Accounting software.
- Statutory Compliance: Handle all statutory filings including GST, TDS, TCS, and Income Tax. Manage GST refunds (if applicable for exports/inverted duty).
- Audit Management: Lead internal audits and coordinate with external auditors for the timely completion of statutory and tax audits.
4. Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Treasury Management: Manage daily cash flow, vendor payments (International & Domestic), and receivables tracking.
- Fleet & Logistics Accounting: Oversee expense tracking for the logistics fleet (11+ vehicles) and cold storage facility costs.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
- Qualification: CA Inter / CMA / MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Finance & Accounts, with at least 3 years in an Import/Export or Trading setup.
- Industry Preference: Experience in Perishable Goods, FMCG, or Logistics industries is highly preferred.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Forex Expertise: Strong understanding of LC, TT, DA/DP payment terms, and currency hedging.
- Software Proficiency: Expert in Tally Prime / ERP systems and Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to calculate complex landed costs and margins for fluctuating commodities.
- Banking Relations: Proven ability to negotiate and liaise with bank trade finance desks.
