Job Title: Accounts Manager

Job Overview

The Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing the overall financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, taxation, and internal audits, with a focus on supporting the company’s strategic goals in the leather manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities1. Financial Management

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure financial stability.
  • Monitor and control production costs, raw material inventory, and operational expenses.

2. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including GST, VAT, income tax, and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and timely submission of financial reports.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and policies.

3. Cost & Inventory Accounting

  • Analyze manufacturing costs, overheads, and profitability of product lines.
  • Monitor inventory valuation and reconciliation of raw materials (leather, chemicals, finishes) and finished goods.
  • Work closely with production and procurement teams to optimize cost efficiency.

4. Strategic Support

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
  • Assist in pricing strategies, capital investment analysis, and business expansion plans.
  • Develop and track key financial performance indicators (KPIs) for the manufacturing division.

5. Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor the accounts team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct training sessions on accounting best practices and ERP/system updates.

6. Systems & Process Improvement

  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of ERP/accounting software tailored to manufacturing needs.
  • Streamline financial processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Prior experience in the manufacturing industry (preferably leather, textile, or related sectors) is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with taxation, compliance, and auditing processes in the manufacturing domain.
