The Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant is responsible for the management and reporting of financial data of the bank. This role's duties include preparing financial statements, examining, and analyzing a company's accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.

Essential Functions

• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Processes Accounts Payable for the bank
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information
• Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options
• Completes daily GL entries for ATM Settlement as listed
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Assists in reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and assisting in analyzing account information
• Secures financial information by completing data base backups
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements
• Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulation
• Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
• Contributes to team goals within the Finance Department
• Balances all cash accounts
• Participates in vault cash audits when necessary

• Proficiency in Excel

Education

• High School diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience required
• 3 years banking experience preferred
