Accounts Payable Accountant
Our client is a well-established, mission-driven organization headquartered in the Glen Burnie area. They are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join their collaborative finance team.

Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations with an emphasis on accounts payable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely vendor payments, and assisting with month-end close.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare weekly check runs and electronic payments (ACH and wire transfers).
- Reconcile vendor statements and research invoice or payment discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and banking information.
- Assist with expense report processing and corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP..
- Support month-end and year-end close by preparing reconciliations and schedules.
- Assist with annual audit requests by gathering supporting documentation.
- Work closely with internal departments and vendors to resolve payment and accounting questions.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
- Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent accounting experience.
- 2-5 years of accounting or accounts payable experience.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $58,000 - $65,000, depending on experience.
