Accounts Payable Clerk

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process utilizing QuickBooks Online, ensuring accurate and timely payment to vendors, and maintaining accurate records, and ensuring strong vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers.
• rocess and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Prepare and process payments, including checks and electronic transfers.
• Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions. Maintain accurate general ledger journal entries.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end closing processes related to accounts payable.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience using QuickBooks Online.
• 2–3 years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable best practices.
• Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the entire AP process, including vendor reconciliations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate well with staff, vendors, and within the finance team.

Job Type: Part-Time

Location – On-site, The Bryan Museum, Galveston, TX

Schedule: 15 – 20 hrs. /week, flexible schedule

Pay: $20 - $22/hour
