Accounts Payable Manager

Job Overview
We are a vertically integrated multi-family owner-operator with a portfolio of 18 residential communities totaling approximately 2,000 units across four states. We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our finance team and own the full AP function across our portfolio.

This role reports directly to the CFO and is a key position in our accounting operations. You will manage vendor relationships, drive timely and accurate invoice processing, and help us scale our financial infrastructure as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Process high-volume vendor invoices end-to-end across 18 properties, including coding, approval routing, and payment disbursement
  • Run weekly payment batches via ACH, check, and wire transfer
  • Maintain a clean AP aging report and resolve outstanding items proactively
  • Own month-end AP close, ensuring all liabilities are properly accrued
  • Maintain the master vendor database, including W-9s, certificates of insurance, and vendor agreements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and payment escalations
  • Coordinate and file annual 1099s for all applicable vendors
  • Design and enforce AP policies, approval hierarchies, and spending controls
  • Serve as a power user of our property management/accounting software Entrata
  • Build and maintain AP dashboards and weekly reporting for the CFO
  • Collaborate with property managers, regional managers, and asset managers to ensure invoices are accurate and on time
  • Support audits and year-end close activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
  • Prior experience in real estate, property management, or multi-family residential
  • Proficiency with Entrata or similar property management accounting software
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, and internal controls
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reconciliations)
  • Proven experience managing accounts payable functions within a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation.
  • Strong organizational skills including 10-key typing proficiency; ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and external partners.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
