We are looking for an
Accounts Payable Manager
to oversee a high-performing payables function for a Contract to hire position based in Dallas, Texas. This role will guide daily invoice and payment activities, support a stable and efficient operation, and strengthen collaboration across finance, vendors, and internal business partners. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, sound accounting knowledge, and hands-on expertise with JD Edwards and
Coupa
to maintain accuracy, compliance, and service quality.
This is a contract to hire position
Hybrid work schedule: 4 days a week onsite in Dallas, Texas

Responsibilities

Supervise the Accounts Payable team, overseeing the processing, routing, and tracking of invoices in Coupa to ensure timely and accurate payments in compliance with company policies and SOX/internal controls

Review and approve high-value or complex invoice transactions and ensure all AP activities comply with financial policies, procedures, and audit requirements

Oversee the regular reconciliation of vendor statements and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies or escalations, including short payments, duplicate payments, missing invoices, credits, and unapplied cash

Act as primary liaison with vendors and cross-functional internal teams to resolve significant payment issues, negotiate terms, and enhance supplier relationships

Review and approve payment runs, including those involving PO-backed and non-PO invoices, in accordance with company policies

Lead process improvement initiatives within AP and champion automation opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy

Coordinate with Finance leadership on month-end close activities, accruals, journal entries, and reporting related to AP

Manage AP-related audit requests, ensure compliance with SOX/internal controls, and maintain all necessary documentation for audit readiness
Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency in JD Edwards (JDE) and Coupa Portal with the ability to train and support the team

Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Outlook

Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills

Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and extensive hands-on experience with AP processes in a leadership role

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines while leading a team

Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain structure and workflow

Ability to communicate effectively and strategically with senior management, vendors, and cross-functional colleagues
