As a 211 LA County Accounts Payable Specialist, you will manage the full accounts payable cycle, maintain accurate financial records, process cash receipts, and provide critical support for audits and month-end closing processes. This role is a key part of the accounting team, ensuring the smooth and efficient financial operation of 211 LA.

Invoice and payment processing: Efficiently process all accounts payable invoices, American Express charges, and cash disbursements, accurately allocating payments to the correct programs.

Record maintenance: Maintain organized and excellent record-keeping files of all supporting documentation, including invoices, approval documents, and maintain all applicable accounting email folders.

Financial administration: Prepare and maintain monthly prepaid and accrued expense schedules, and process daily cash receipts from accounts receivable.

Audit support: Assist the Director of Accounting and Senior Accountant with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.

Closing support: Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Special assignments: Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.

Experience: Proven skill and experience in processing accounts payable.

Technical skills: Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Prior experience with Sage Intacct accounting software preferred, not required.

Attention to detail: A High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail is critical.

Accounting knowledge: Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and an understanding of expense recognition.

Organizational skills: Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
