About the role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial reporting, accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes for Careem's Grocery business in Saudi Arabia. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
What you’ll do
Financial Reporting:
Lead the monthly financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Provide sensitive financial data to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:
Manage the AP/AR function in the Saudi and Jordan markets, this includes:
Support Business Teams:
Assist the business team with any finance and accounting-related activities.
Provide financial insights and support to enhance business decision-making processes.
Tax Compliance:
Work closely with the tax team to ensure all invoices issued to and from the business are tax compliant in UAE.
Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure adherence to all relevant tax laws.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) with a specialization in Accounting.
Professional qualification from an accounting body (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, etc.).
Work experience of 3-5 Years
Past experience with a retail organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in managing financial reporting, AP, and AR processes.
Strong understanding of VAT compliance and regulations in multiple markets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Oracle Fusion
Proficient in Excel
Experience in managing a team
