Accounts Payable Specialist

Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: St. Paul, MN (Hybrid schedule requiring weekly onsite presence in St. Paul, MN. Only local candidates in Minnesota or Western Wisconsin will be eligible for consideration)

Compensation: $27.00 – $33.00 / Hourly

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).


Overview

A St. Paul–based organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a fast‑paced, high‑volume PO accounts payable environment. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, technically strong, and comfortable navigating modern ERP systems and Excel. This role requires accuracy, urgency, and the ability to adapt quickly within a dynamic AP department.


Responsibilities

  • Process high‑volume PO and non‑PO invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Match, code, and route invoices for approval in accordance with company policies
  • Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data analysis) to support reporting and AP workflows
  • Maintain and update invoice records within a modern ERP system
  • Assist with weekly payment runs, including ACH, checks, and wire processing
  • Monitor the AP inbox and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Support month‑end close tasks such as accruals and reporting
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Procurement, Receiving, and Accounting teams to resolve issues
  • Contribute to process improvements and system efficiencies within AP


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of high‑volume accounts payable experience
  • Strong Excel proficiency (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables required)
  • Experience within modern ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, Infor, etc.)
  • Familiarity with PO‑based AP processes in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
