Job Overview
An Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining organized financial records. The role supports smooth financial operations by resolving discrepancies, coordinating with internal teams, and upholding compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Receive, audit and process high volume of accounts payable invoices in workflow.
- Analyze, research, and proactively resolve invoicing issues.
- Professional communication with internal business units to resolve invoicing issues.
- Research, respond to, and follow-up with vendor inquiries regarding invoicing and payments
- Verify accounts payable balances by receiving and reconciling vendor statements.
- Maintain vendor master list and data.
- Support month/quarter/year-end closing processes.
- Assist with periodic audits.
- Perform and support the accounting team as needed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- At least 3-5 years of high-volume Accounts Payable and/or full-charge bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- General knowledge of Accounting and ERP systems (Sage Intact is preferred but not required)
- Workflow management and invoice approval process
- Basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Extraordinary attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, execute goals, objectives, and action items.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
Physical Requirements - The job requires frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
