Walsh Trucking is a family owned company operating since 1959 and is a leader in the wood residual and refuse transportation industry. Walsh Trucking continues to grow and is seeking a professional, motivated, self-starter who is well versed in Accounts Payable to join our Troutdale corporate accounting team! This is an onsite position.

Key duties of the Accounts Payable Specialist will include:

• timely coding and processing of invoices to accurately meet the daily, weekly and monthly deadlines of the department
• Reconcile vendor statements
• Perform weekly batch check run and manual checks as needed
• Make recommendations regarding payment cash flow and Treasury management, also gathering or creating related supporting documentation
• Utilize Desktop Deposit for depositing customer and internal transfer checks
• Maintain payables contracts and agreements database
• Add approved vendors, including related W9/1099 information
• Other duties as assigned and as job growth opportunities arise

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Possess excellent time management, analytical & decision-making skills, accuracy, attention to detail, data entry skills including 10-key data entry.
• Working knowledge of Windows and experienced/proficient with MS Word and Excel applications; experience with Sage 100/MAS90 is desirable
• Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Multi-tasking - often switching between dissimilar tasks with minimal workflow interruption
• Lifelong learner - desires to learn/improve processes, create efficiencies and learn new tools and processes eagerly
• The abilities of:

• BONUS!: Experience with ACH Batch Processing
• BONUS!: Experience with multi-entity processing

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree or equivalent in Accounting or a combination of training and work experience. 3-5 years of related experience required.

OTHER CERTIFICATIONS:

Valid driver license with clean driving record

This position is non-exempt, full-time, day shift Monday-Friday, 8 hour days.
