<Job Overview>
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will manage the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Your expertise will support our company's financial health and operational efficiency, contributing to our ongoing success.

<Responsibilities>

• Process and verify all accounts payable transactions, including invoice entry, coding, and approval workflows using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Field edge
• Manage accounts receivable activities by generating invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts with professionalism and tact
• Perform accounts receivable functions including project set up, job cost monitoring, processing project invoices, posting receipts, and completing job cost closeout procedures.
• Prepare proposals, reports, and client correspondence related to accounts receivable and job cost information.
• Monitor open job cost items and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform routine AR collection activities, including sending statements, replacement invoices, contacting client accounts payable, and documenting follow-ups.
• Assist with general accounting functions including general ledger entries, accounts payable, inventory, and equipment tracking as they relate to job cost accounting.
• Support communication of accounts receivable information to Project Directors, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
• Participate in special projects or department initiatives as needed.
• Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency) and attention to detail
• Ability to analyze financial data effectively and perform account reconciliations confidently
• Prior experience working in public accounting or non-profit accounting environments is advantageous

Minimum Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well with others in an office environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of construction terms and job costing
• Comfortable using spreadsheets and accounting tools
• Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills (including 10-key)
• Reasoning and problem-solving skills
