Responsibilities
- Process and verify all accounts payable transactions, including invoice coding, data entry, and timely payments using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Workday.
- Manage accounts receivable activities by generating invoices, tracking payments, and reconciling customer accounts efficiently.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including journal entries, debits & credits, and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures, including preparing reports and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
- Support payroll management processes through platforms like ADP, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate data entry and benefits administration.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as HRIS systems and governmental agencies to ensure compliance with tax regulations and governmental accounting standards.
Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation techniques.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian; familiarity with HRIS systems like Workday or UltiPro is a plus.
- Knowledge of payroll management tools like ADP or Kronos to support benefits administration and payroll processing.
- Experience with non-profit or governmental accounting practices is advantageous.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills; excellent analysis skills for financial data interpretation.
- Familiarity with tax experience related to corporate or non-profit entities; understanding of financial concepts such as journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.
