About the Role
Detail-oriented and results-driven Accounts Receivable Accountant with 5 years of experience in managing end-to-end receivables, credit control, and customer account reconciliations. Skilled in ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and strong internal controls to maintain optimal cash flow. Adept at handling large transaction volumes, resolving disputes, and aligning receivables management with IFRS/SOCPA accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- · Process and monitor customer invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and contractual terms.
- · Record and reconcile accounts receivable transactions in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or similar).
- · Monitor aging schedules, follow up on overdue accounts, and initiate appropriate collection actions.
- · Coordinate with the Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve disputes, billing errors, or deductions.
- · Prepare monthly AR reports, including DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), collection forecasts, and overdue analysis for management.
- · Assist in cash application by matching customer payments with invoices and investigating unapplied cash.
- · Ensure compliance with IFRS, SOCPA, and internal policies for revenue recognition and receivables accounting.
- · Support audit requests by preparing schedules, confirmations, and reconciliations.
- · Assist in the development and improvement of credit control policies and procedures.
- · Facilitating the Sales Transaction in terms of preparing the RFQ, PO, Deliveries and collection follow up.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS 15 – Revenue Recognition and SOCPA guidelines.
- Proficient in ERP and accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics 365, QuickBooks).
- Advanced Excel skills: Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliation templates.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in receivables management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for handling clients and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial information.
- · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- · CMA / CPA Part-qualified or equivalent certification preferred.
- · Training in credit management or collections best practices is an advantage.
