Active Member of the Church/ Administrative Assistant

Job Overview:
The Administrative Assistant supports the daily operations of the church by managing communications, scheduling, and records. This role serves as a central point of contact for members and helps ensure that all administrative functions run smoothly and efficiently.

The position also provides direct support to the Pastor and church leadership, assisting with coordination of services, events, and internal operations. This role requires a dependable, organized individual who can work both independently and collaboratively in a flexible environment (remote and/or in-person as needed).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls and manage church communications
  • Maintain accurate records (membership, attendance, reports)
  • Prepare weekly bulletins, announcements, and correspondence
  • Manage calendars, schedules, and church events
  • Assist with basic bookkeeping and financial tracking
  • Provide administrative support to the Pastor and leadership team

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Personable and able to interact well with diverse individuals
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Faith & Community Requirement:
This position requires alignment with the mission and values of the church. The selected candidate must be willing to actively participate in and become a member of the church community.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic bookkeeping knowledge (preferred)
  • Teachable spirit and willingness to grow in the role

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.30 - $29.27 per hour

Work Location: In person
